How to Archive Email Messages in Outlook - Archive messages by using the keyboard



  Some users prefer to turn off the AutoArchive feature and run the archive process manually, these instructions are shown below. Your archive folder disappears from the Navigation pane. Once items are archived, they can only be deleted manually. Any subfolder of the folder you select is included in this manual archive. Microsoft states that this option is not checked by default, but it was checked on some of my Outlook installations.
